MINOT -
The Minot Historical Society is planning a special ceremony in the fall to
dedicate a memorial stone being set as part of the group's All Veterans
Memorial Project.
Fundraising efforts have brought the group to within $740 of its $3,000
goal, with the single largest donation given by American Legion Post 150 in
Mechanic Falls, Minot, Poland.
The post donated $1,500. Donations for the All Veterans Memorial can be sent
to Minot Historical Society Treasurer Madeline Hicks, 833 West Minot Road,
Minot, ME 04258.
Residents with family veteran data, living or deceased, should call Beverly
Spofford at 966-3065 to be recorded in the memorial notebook.
The stone is being carved by Collette Monument; landscaping has been
provided by Geoffrey & Son Landscaping.
Presenting the check is Past 3rd District Commander Gary Purrington.
